Hardly a day goes by where Drake isn’t setting some kind of chart, streaming, or sales record. He’s probably going to do all of the above with the surprise release of a new double album, Scorpion, though – and it really shouldn’t be all that surprising, considering Spotify is going all-out to promote it as the “most-anticipated album of the year”. Their words, not mine.
While Scorpion does contain plenty of filler (as you’d expect for a 25-track double LP), there’s almost no way to escape songs like “After Dark”, which also features Ty Dolla $ign and Static Major, and the already established megahit in “God’s Plan”. Give the album a spin below – while the album has plenty of excess, there’s also much to like about it, especially the first half of Scorpion.
