Though he may not be the co-vocalist for progressive metal band Volumes anymore, that doesn’t mean Michael Barr is done with music. It’s pretty obvious that Michael has some serious talent, though, no matter what genres he plays around with – after releasing the Back Home EP in 2016, he’s back with a new one, simply titled +1.
What Michael is doing is quite impressive. +1 is a 7 track EP – a slice of short but very sweet R&B/electronica with slight hip-hop leanings. There’s not a bad track on the album, but the two big highlights are “Dark Kid” and “Worthless”. These are moody, dark, and atmospheric R&B tracks with seriously massive potential. Hooks are literally everywhere on the EP, and you can stream the track “Where You Been” below, too, now along with the entire EP. Michael is also doing a short 2 week tour in late May/early June, the dates of which you can find below as well.
Make no mistake – whether you were a fan of Michael’s previous projects or not, the new EP +1 is certainly an effort that you’ll want to listen to. This is some gamechanging music with great talent behind it. Michael Barr, your time is now.
