Sometimes life truly comes full circle. For OKC math rock band Speak, Memory, that couldn’t be more accurate. Early on in the band’s career, current indie favorite Bartees Strange was a member of the band – and while he’s not anymore, Speak, Memory and Bartees reunited and joined forces for SM’s upcoming EP, Adirondack. At least the mixing process of the EP, anyway. The band’s newest song, “Trails”, comes from that EP, and you can stream it below. Certainly, a band that draws from such expansive influences as Explosions In The Sky and The Appleseed Cast shouldn’t go unnoticed, so give the new track a spin below. Bartees also produced Harmony Woods’ newest album Graceful Rage.
The band’s new EP, Adirondack, drops May 21st – so if you’re enjoying what you hear, consider giving it a pre-order right here. You can also pre-order the record on vinyl at this location. It should also be noted that Moving Mountains’ early material (especially their album Pneuma) is a key influence here, so if that interests you, you’ll love what this talented band is doing.
