Progressive death metal band Monotheist debut new vocalist on new song, “Twilight Of The Wolves”

Orlando, Florida progressive death metal band Monotheist (Prosthetic Records) have unleashed a brand new song, “Twilight Of The Wolves”. The new song is the band’s first in two years, and also features new vocalist Cooper Bates, who replaced former vocalist JJ Polachek. Give the new song a spin below.

MONOTHEIST are currently working on the follow up to 2018’s Scourge, slated for a 2021 release date. Of the new track, the band comments:

“Twilight of the Wolves is one of the first songs written for our next record, which will be called Umbria Imperium. Although our last record, Scourge, came out just two years ago, most of the music was actually written years before that. I wanted to release music that represents who Monotheist is right now, and that’s what this song is. Lyrically, this song reflects the underlying, core theme of the upcoming record in that it talks about the consequences of allowing negative influences flourish in our lives through different levels (politically, socially, personally, etc.). A negative thought, given the chance, will grow from a seed of darkness into a monstrous nightmare. It’s important to be vigilant and work to protect ourselves.”

“We have a new vocalist who may look familiar to fans; he was actually our previous drummer, Cooper Bates. When JJ left, Cooper was gracious enough to move over to the vocalist spot and allow the great Chris Stropoli (Thy Antichrist) to take over on drums. This change has definitely made us a stronger band overall, especially with Chris’ additional talent in songwriting. While JJ’s departure was unfortunate and definitely left some big shoes to fill, Cooper brings his own frenetic energy and flair to the role. We’re excited to record this new album with him in front of the mic this time. We are all super proud of how the songs are turning out and hopefully we will be able to present this record to the fans early next year.”
