Metal music naturally lends itself to other genres – especially classical music. Bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse and even Septicflesh have been incorporating pianos and even orchestras in their music for years. It’s nothing particularly new, but it is always interesting to hear.
Enter Lorna Shore. Their new album Flesh Coffin has seen some of the best reviews of their career, as they’ve morphed from a solid deathcore act to a band that incorporates elements of death and black metal as well. When you have Misstiq issuing her take on Lorna Shore? Even better. The Melbourne, Australia pianist and composer has received some serious acclaim for her self-styled “pianocore”, with interesting takes on some of the top modern metal bands with piano, and the results here aren’t disappointing. You may have also heard her on The Amity Affliction’s most recent album, This Could Be Heartbreak. Check out the video below, as well as other compositions from Northlane and Make Them Suffer.
