Original Malevolent Creation vocalist Brett Hoffmann, whose powerful vocals helped to define the band’s influential early death metal sound, has passed away at the age of 51 from colon cancer. Though he left and rejoined the band multiple times over the years, he remained widely regarded as one of the best extreme metal vocalists of his time – especially on the band’s iconic first two records Retribution and The Ten Commandments.
