From the depths of Cincinnati, Ohio comes a new metalcore band by the name of SA\/AGE. The new band blends some hip-hop elements with the core foundation of metalcore, and they do it fairly well. The project is the brainchild of Austin Roberts, in their debut song “SCHIZO” Austin wrote everything within the song and his talents really shine. SA\/AGE formed off the desire for Austin to revisit his older material from 2018 and bring them a new form of life. The song “SCHIZO” features Yugen, who has officially become the vocalist for the project, leading up to the single’s release. The two have previously worked together in their past project I, The Oracle. This is a promising start for the group and we’re excited to see where they go from here. The song kicks off with an escalating intro that leads into an aggressive and satisfying verse. As the song progresses to the chorus I found myself enjoying the overall songwriting and production of the music. The small details are a nice touch and add well to the atmosphere.
