Modern metalcore band Aphasia cope with loss on new single, “Afterlife”

Modern metalcore band Aphasia are beginning to establish themselves as a notable name in the scene already. With a couple records (including one last year) and a fresh signing to Theoria Records under their collective belts, the band is reeling in almost 17k monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Consider how crowded a genre like this is, and you’ll find that very impressive.

Anyway, the band’s got a new song out today in the form of “Afterlife”, and boy is it impressive. Any fan of the more technical side of the genre will want this on their playlist ASAP, but the subject matter is even more touching.

“Afterlife is the follow up single to the band’s debut record, Rebirth, and was written about the untimely passing of one of the member’s close friends. The lyrical content touches on the shock that death brings and coping with the loss of someone so close when it feels like the world is caving in.”, says Ryan Wirth about the new song. And with their signing to Theoria Records in the books, the sky is the limit as well.
