Kansas City’s I Found Paradise have only existed since the beginning of this year (!!!), yet they’re already making a big impression in their local scene and beyond. Having debuted their first single, “Parasite”, via Spaceuntravel, the song has racked up over 23,000 streams across all platforms since its debut. Again, pretty impressive for a debut single from a band that’s been around for less than half a year.
The band’s debut EP, Paradise, is also impressive as a whole. The EP’s 5 songs never overstay their welcome, with a mostly familiar song structure that fans of melodic metalcore and active rock are going to enjoy. Don’t worry, though. There’s plenty of serrated riffs and breakdowns on tracks like “Broken” that will satisfy those into heavier metalcore. It’s pretty surprising how good the songwriting and production are here for a brand new band, and it’ll be interesting to see (and hear) where I Found Paradise go from here.
