The 2022 edition of Dance Gavin Dance’s Swanfest was a treat for anyone able to witness it. Bringing together bands across the music spectrum like Movements, Knocked Loose, Volumes, Animals As Leaders, and many more prominent acts, said lineup was stacked across the board.
Even better were some of the collaborations and guests that popped up at the Sacramento festival, and this one is probably the best. Hail The Sun’s Donovan Melero, Kurt Travis, and Anthony Green all came together for a live version of Saosin’s “Seven Years”, a song that dates all the way back to 2003, if you can believe it. Yes, it’s been that long. Yes, the Translating The Name EP still slaps, as the kids say. Yes, most of us would probably love to see this again.
