Blindwish have only been on 2 national tours, and have been together for barely a year. They’ve been receiving a decent amount of buzz, though, as touring support for the last two Palisades headlining tours in the 2nd half of 2016. They’re somewhere in the vague of alternative rock with a sharp edge, and based on the strength of just one officially released song (“3 AM”) and a string of live performances, the band is quickly gaining traction – all this before even an EP has been released.
The band has been fairly mysterious on social media other than mentioning the tours they’re going on, which begs the question – who is Blindwish? The interesting thing is, all the band members have cut their teeth in the scene. Speaking with them, it’s fairly obvious that they’re more experienced than most bands in this position would be.
I was lucky enough to catch up with the band while they were touring with Palisades, where we discussed tracking new material, the business of touring and merch sales, and working with some guy named John Feldmann in the studio. Perhaps you’ve heard of him.
Check out the audio conversation below. You’ll definitely want to keep tabs on Blindwish – if you see them live, they might even throw out a familiar cover song to get all the mid-2000’s scene kids moving (AKA me).
