Modern progressive metal music would feel much, much different without Aaron Marshall around – or his project Intervals, in general. Instrumental music is a tough sell in general, but Aaron Marshall has managed to make even newer Intervals releases feel fresh and exciting, even as tastes have changed over the years. You can probably say that about his latest single, “Mnemonic”, as well. With a new record on the way to accompany the new track, Marshall will be debuting the track on his tour in support of Tesseract, which actually started October 5th.
Fans of Marshall’s previous output will know exactly what to do with it, while newcomers will likely be excited by consistently virtuoso-level performances. Even now, standing out in a scene this crowded is a tall task, but Intervals don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
