In The Spotlight: “Lunar” Is Inspiring Progressive Metal For The Soul

Thank God for Bandcamp. I can safely say that, at least in the last 2 years or so, I’ve discovered more interesting (and talented) musicians through the service than almost anywhere else. It’s a huge hotbed for solo musicians especially, who simply want an outlet to get discovered.

In this case, I stumbled upon Lunar, the project of Branden Oak. Based out of the UK, his debut 6 track EP (released back in March) is an effective spree of around 25 minutes worth of progressive rock/metal – all totally instrumental. There’s not a lot of needless guitar wanking here – just an effective performance by a musician and a project that should be on your radar right now.

Check out a stream of the EP below. It’s available to download for whatever price you’d like – but considering throwing him a few bucks. It’s totally worth it!
