Holding Absence are clearly enjoying their first-ever tour of North America, in support of Dayseeker. Along with Thornhill and Caskets, the four bands represent different, yet equally intriguing, sides of the post-hardcore adjacent spectrum. They’re all different enough to stand out, but are also on similar wavelengths when it comes to aesthetic and the emotional depth drawn forth in their music.
Holding Absence vocalist Lucas Woodland in particular has already been the talk of the tour to new fans of the band, and during the start of the tour, he recently joined Dayseeker during a show for their song “Starving To Be Empty”. One of the best songs off the band’s 2019 album Sleeptalk, it sports an explosive, huge chorus that you’ll want to listen to over and over again. Maybe we’ll get some kind of epic collaboration from both bands in the near future? The world might just explode.
