Florida alt-metal newcomers Moodring check off just about all the boxes you could want in a band right now. Influences from across the music spectrum? Check. A huge sound that manages to integrate obvious shoegaze influences into an accessible sound? Yeah.
Two announcements for the much-hyped band today. One, the band’s debut full-length Stargazer drops in June. Yay. Secondly, the band’s new single, “SYNC.wav”, is out now – and it’s ridiculously good. Probably their most Deftones-esque song to date, but again, Moodring manages to do this without sounding anything remotely close to a ripoff. That’s a skill more bands should utilize.
