Soul Blind are a pretty new name on the alt-rock/grunge scene right now, but they’re doing incredibly well for a band that’s only been around for a few short years. In fact, before today’s release of their Third Chain EP, Soul Blind had only released a handful of songs – which certainly shows the young band knows how to build up hype. In fact, they’re already reeling in over 60k Spotify listeners a month, no doubt an impressive number for a band that hasn’t even put out a full-length.
If grungy alt-rock that sounds like it could’ve been peeled from 1995 is your thing, though, you’ll find much to like in the band’s new EP, out now on Other People Records. The three songs here are rather short, but nonetheless effective, with huge melodies that are reminiscent of modern alt-rock bands like Teenage Wrist – but with the obvious spirit of grunge bands like Silverchair and even newer acts like Narrow Head. Truly massive stuff, and it won’t be a surprise to hear (well, see) them on bigger tours soon, too. Don’t sleep.
