The one billion stream club on Spotify is a fairly exclusive club in general, and even moreso when it comes to rock and metal bands. Some of the most iconic rock and metal songs in history have reached the milestone – Linkin Park’s “Numb” and “In The End”, Blink-182’s “All The Small Things”, and plenty more have reached that magical number. And now a prominent song from one of the hottest 2003 debut albums by a then-new rock band has reached it as well.
If the social media photo wasn’t enough of a hint for you, we’re talking about Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life”. The song reached the one billion Spotify stream milestone within the last 24 hours, and notably the video on YouTube also has over 1.3 billion views at the time of this writing. The song, which also featured 12 Stones vocalist Paul McCoy, peaked at a staggering #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 – making it one of the biggest rock songs of the 2000s decade.
