One listen to ENMY and you’ll likely find out rather quickly where the band’s proclivities lie. Somewhere between modern rock and metalcore acts like Atreyu, Breaking Benjamin, and newer Papa Roach, the band’s arena-sized ambitions combine pop sensibilities with huge choruses and enough of an edge to bang your head to. One listen to new single “Damn” and you’ll find a lot to be impressed by – smartly releasing a string of singles to date, the sky is the limit for this band. It wouldn’t be a surprise to hear a song like this on XM Octane, and it also wouldn’t be shocking to see ENMY reach similar heights.
About the new track, the band had this to say:
‘”DAMN” lyrically is an irreverent way to address the struggles of depression. Just kind of accepting, “well this is what it is, I guess I’m always going to feel this way” almost indulging in the fact that there’s nothing you can do to shake yourself from this mental state. I think a good majority of the internal struggle comes from external situations with people who give into the materialistic/plastic outlook of life just because “that’s how things are” and it has a negative effect on how you view life.”‘
