Emerging onto the music scene with 2005’s Juturna, Circa Survive have had a long and fruitful career. Six full-length albums and a handful of EPs that have pushed the boundaries of alternative rock, post-hardcore, and more have given way to some of the bigger albums the scene has produced. They even released a new EP earlier this year. Sadly, it appears the band just announced their breakup.
At least if a recent Patreon post is to be believed, anyway. As SOTS Podcast have noted, there’s rampant speculation that Circa have broken up, or at least are going to be an inactive band. The band has not commented on this speculation, so we’ll wait for an official announcement – but the band’s Patreon is run by them, so it doesn’t appear they were hacked or anything. If this is really it, though, their discography is incredible, and you’re doing yourself a disservice by not listening to them.
Editor’s Note: Anthony Green revealed that, when asked if Circa was “done”, simply said “No”. No further information was given.
