The Devil Wears Prada have announced their return to Rise Records and have a new concept album in the works.
Starting out on the Rise Records roster with Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord (2006) and Plagues (2007), The Devil Wears Prada have resigned with Rise after releasing With Roots Above and Branches Below (2009) and Throne (2011) through Ferret Music, and 8:18 (2013) through Roadrunner Records.
On March 7, 2015, Rise Records uploaded a video that had clips from spacecraft launches as well as dialogue having to do with a launch. It lasts a minute and at the very end, you can see The Devil Wears Prada’s logo alongside Rise’s logo. While originally nobody really knew anything about it besides the obvious assumption that they were indeed re-signed to the label, today Rise released a statement officially regarding having them return to the roster, as well as shedding light on a new concept album, The ‘Space’ EP that is due to release this summer. As successful and ingenious as the ‘Zombie’ EP was, there are no doubts that this will be equally as enjoyable.
The band has also announced the departure of a founding member, guitarist Chris Rubey.
