Dayseeker channel the depths of human emotion with heartfelt new song, “Neon Grave”

Southern California post-hardcore band Dayseeker have worked for years to get to this moment. Four full-lengths into their illustrious career, they’re just recently beginning to reap the rewards of their hard work. Years of slugging it out opening for some of the bigger bands in the scene resulted in 2019’s Sleeptalk – a record that condensed their sharper post-hardcore/metalcore edge into something with even more pop hooks and depth than before. Not that the band has gone completely soft, mind you, but they’ve channeled their sonic palette into something that manages to deliver what older fans of the band crave as well as draw in new ones. A tough task, to be sure.

With that in mind, the band’s new song “Neon Grave” doubles down on their recent success. This time, the heartfelt track is about the passing of vocalist Rory Rodriguez’s father in July 2021, and that just manages to up the ante. It’s the type of song that Dayseeker excels at, and if the band’s upcoming material sounds anywhere near this good, we’re in for a treat.
