You seriously can’t make this stuff up. Tool drummer Danny Carey, who’s known as one of the best in his profession, was arrested for misdemeanor assault at a Kansas City airport. The news was confirmed by Billboard and several other media outlets.
According to the Billboard article, the events that transpired amount to this:
Around 7 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 12), law enforcement at the airport received a report of a “disturbance between two males at an airport terminal,” Joe McBride, the senior communications manager at the Kansas City Aviation Department told to Billboard. McBride also said that Carey is not in custody anymore.
New video has also surfaced of the arrest, which Carey apparently demanded to be filmed. It was originally posted by TMZ. Make of this what you will. Notably, this occurred a month before the band is set to embark on a major year of touring, so no word on this arrest will have any affect on the band’s plans.
