Damn! After a wait that seems like forever, King Kendrick has announced the details of his first full-length album since 2017. And by details, we mean that he posted a not-so-cryptic announcement on his official website, revealing the name of the album and a release date set for May.
No new music is out at the moment, but in the 5 years since his last album dropped, Kendrick’s profile has been raised by everything from Grammy nominations (and awards), to high-profile features, to even curating the soundtrack to Marvel’s Black Panther movie. That soundtrack, which he also featured on with SZA on “All The Stars”, was a massive success. Already accustomed to the biggest stages (see: the Super Bowl halftime show), if his trajectory is any indication, this is probably going to be the album that launches him into one of the world’s biggest artists. Actually, he’s probably there already.
