The heavy juggernauts that are Crown Magnetar rose from the ashes in 2017. Showcasing a unique combination of tech, metalcore, and death metal elements, Crown Magnetar emerged showcasing technical riffs, relentless blast beats and crushing yet dynamic vocals. The band continues with each release to displayed a force to be reckoned with in the metal community. Crown Magnetar made headway with their 2018 EP “The Prophet of Disgust”, and ever since that EP they left their growing fanbase wanting more. Today marks the day Crown Magnetar released their first full length album, and it packs one hell of a punch. The album was mixed and mastered by Mike Sahm. The album is titled The Codex Of Flesh and it’s a giant step forward for the up and comers in the metal scene. Crown Magnetar took what they had on their first EP, and amplified it. We’re talking comparing TNT to nukes here in terms of quality and songwriting.
Crown Magnetar has unveiled a ten track full length record with each track packing a punch of a magnitude 10 earthquake, no really, the bass on the record is very well done and not overpowering. We originally fell in love with Crown Magnetar for the energy they’re able to project onto a single track, and that stays true with this record. The guitarwork throughout this record is some of our favorite of the last year with some sections adding diversity you don’t often see in this genre. The vocal delivery and execution is just flawless throughout. We found some of the vocal patterns to be very well thought out and placed surgically into the tracks. Each track holds their own on the album, and contributes to the overall quality of the record. It’s very hard for me to find a metal album with zero tracks I’d want to skip – I found that with this record. The tracks Full Spectrum Hatred, Dead Reflections, Dead Artifacts, The Codex of Flesh, and Deciphering are my top picks for this record. This doesn’t undermine the rest of the record by any means. The entire record is one mostly any metalhead would find themselves headbanging to. What are you waiting for? Check out Crown Magnetar’s new album!
