It’s been 4 years since Slipknot released .5: The Gray Chapter, which vaulted to #1 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of release – the 2nd Slipknot album to accomplish that feat. Embarking on a co-headlining tour with Korn shortly thereafter, the band was nominated for multiple Grammy awards as well, in what was clearly a successful album cycle for the veteran metal band.
In a new interview with Spain’s Resurrection Fest TV, Corey Taylor had this to say about the new album:
ββ¦It all depends on when we get in the studio. Right now, the plan is for us to be in the studio early next year β like, first couple of months next year. So, a couple of months to get that going, a couple of months to get production, new masks, new outfits, new everything. And hopefully be able to come and start touring in the summer when the album comes out.β
It’s pretty clear 2019 will be a huge year for Slipknot, especially considering the new record is purported to reach “Iowa levels of heavy”. Check out the full interview with Corey Taylor below.
