Former Lostprophets vocalist and convicted pedophile Ian Watkins, who was convicted of child sex crimes and was jailed in 2013 for these offenses, has reportedly been “beaten and stabbed” by inmates in prison. Held in the high-security HMP Wakefield prison, which houses some of the UK’s most heinous criminals, the reports came out that Watkins was stabbed and apparently held hostage by inmates on Saturday.
The vocalist, who helmed the extremely popular Welsh rock band on albums like Start Something and sold millions of records worldwide, admitted to the crimes after a period of denying them. Watkins pleaded guilty to things like the attempted molestation and rape of a baby, producing child pornography, and a host of other offenses that you’re likely better off not reading. After Watkins was accused of these crimes, the remaining members of Lostprophets quickly formed No Devotion with Thursday’s Geoff Rickly.
Watkins had been reported as incurring “life-threatening” injuries from the attack, before later reports surfaced to the contrary. Initially, a source said: “He was found by officers after being held hostage and battered on Saturday morning. He’s in a life-threatening condition and there are fears he could die. If he survives, he’ll have been very lucky.” Either way, though, the disgraced vocalist showed once again that there’s nobody prisoners hate more than child predators.
