Circa Survive switch things up with new single, “Imposter Syndrome”

There are few things more refreshing than hearing Anthony Green’s voice on, well, just about anything. From his solo work to his work in Saosin and Circa Survive over the years, his voice is pretty much unmistakable – and Circa Survive, in particular, have garnered critical acclaim really since 2005’s Juturna dropped.

That being said, it’s always nice to hear the veteran band switch things up a bit stylistically, and that’s exactly what they’ve done on new single, “Imposter Syndrome”. A synth-driven track that also has the sort of buildup you’d hear in post-rock, the opening of the track is oddly reminiscent of The Album Leaf. Certainly high praise, and it’ll be interesting to hear if the band’s new music continues in this direction. For the time being, this is a gift, so enjoy it.
