Ever since the release of their 2002 sophomore album Wonder What’s Next, Chevelle have occupied a consistently prolific space in the rock and metal scene. Consistency is the band’s game, as while each of their full-length albums have managed to differentiate themselves from one another, there are subtleties on each one as well. Whether it’s the sci-fi themes of (wait for it) Sci-Fi Crimes or the electronic influences on Vena Sera, they’ve not really written the same album twice.
Having released their most recent album NIRATIAS in early 2021, the band is already hard at work on tracks from their upcoming record – in fact, they’ve apparently written multiple tracks for it, as revealed in a new interview with the band by Heavy New York, which you can watch // listen to below. The band also revealed that it would likely be for a (hopeful) 2023 release, which would (mostly) fall in line with their typical album release schedule – one every 2-3 years or so. It’ll also be their first release as an independent band, as their contract with Epic Records ended. Let’s. Fucking. GOOOOOOO.
