Currently embarking on a sold-out arena tour in North America, rock band Bring Me The Horizon are touring in support of their genre-blurring album amo. While we liked the record, it’s one that’s a bit polarizing across the board – though it’s just how the band likes it. The new record explores elements of EDM, electropop, and more without sounding anything that’s not BMTH, and while not every experiment works, it’s for this reason that the new album is the band’s first number 1 record to date.
According to NME, the band clocked in a combined 21,000 sales (when streaming and physicals are taken into account) in the UK with the new record, which also clocked in at #1 in Scotland and Australia. Notably, each record the band has released to date has resulted in an improved chart debut, as 2015’s That’s The Spirit reached a staggering #2 in the UK. While the Billboard Top 200 results won’t be in until early next week, it’s quite possible that Bring Me The Horizon will be near the top in the USA, as well. Stay tuned. The band is currently on tour with Thrice and The Fever 333 as direct support.
