Breakout UK rock band Holding Absence unveils expansive new single, “Perish”

Full stop and disclosure: UK rock band Holding Absence are ready to join the big leagues even more with each successive single they put out, and with the arrival of their self-titled debut album via Sharptone Records in March, the hype train for the young band is hitting a fever pitch. Deserved, really, as the bright young band is destined for greatness by combining an array of styles – the occasional metalcore influences of bands like Architects, the melodies of pop, and the lush depth of post-rock – think Mogwai, Hopesfall, Envy, or even This Will Destroy You. It’s these sort of influences that lend themselves well to the sort of grandiose, epic bands Holding Absence is influenced by.

“Perish”, the band’s new single from their upcoming album, continues much in that vein, with an explosive chorus that emerges from lush post-rock influenced ambience. One listen to this band and you’re guaranteed to ask yourself – how is this band so off-the-charts talented?!
