Billie Eilish may actually be the world’s biggest It Dies Today fan

In 2004, a band by the name of It Dies Today made their debut with The Caitiff Choir. One of metalcore’s more notable albums as a whole, the record was released the same year as pivotal records from Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, and several other of metalcore’s biggest bands. While they’re playing at Furnace Fest 2023, they haven’t released new music in a pretty long time. And notably, they have a pretty big fan in one of the world’s most popular stars at the moment.

She already showed up at Knocked Loose’s set at Coachella earlier this year, but Billie Eilish is also into It Dies Today – posting their song “A Threnody For Modern Romance” on her Instagram story. What makes this even more potentially big for the band is that almost 110 million people follow her on the platform – and in the short time since it happened, their Spotify numbers on the song have gone up a little. Sometimes, even one shout out from a huge musician or artist can really vault a band or musician to prominence, so it’ll be interesting to see how many people check out what It Dies Today have to offer. Eilish may actually be the world’s most well-known It Dies Today fan, in any case.
