Doing what “Feel Nothing” accomplished for The Plot In You on a similar level, “Just Pretend” has helped Bad Omens explode over the last 18 months or so. The song just went Gold a month and change ago, a rarity for any rock or metal band in the year of our Lord 2023. At almost 120 million streams on Spotify alone, it wasn’t even released as a single until it forced Bad Omens to do so, thanks to its massive popularity. It’s just one of 15 reasons that The Death Of Peace Of Mind increased the band’s fanbase exponentially, with their headlining tours now selling out almost immediately.
Now the song has hit #1 at Alt Radio, dethroning (lol) the likes of Dirty Heads, 30 Seconds To Mars, and Linkin Park. One wonders how long the song’s continued rise will keep going – could it even go Platinum in the next 12 months or so? It wouldn’t be shocking.
