Asking Alexandria fail to chart on the Billboard Top 200 for the first time in their history

Even if they called it quits today, Asking Alexandria can say they’ve had a very successful career. The band, who released their proper debut album Stand Up And Scream in 2009, fast became one of the scene’s hottest properties. Subsequent albums Reckless & Relentless and From Death To Destiny saw the band approaching a commercial peak (those two albums and The Black all landed a Top 10 Billboard debut) and when Danny Worsnop left, The Black was a generally well-received effort that continued the hot streak. Even their 2017 self-titled album, while not necessarily a fan favorite, had a few hit singles including “Alone In A Room” (interestingly, it’s their most-streamed song on Spotify at 66 million and counting).

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear their move to label Better Noise went too well for them. While lead single “Alone Again” did have some hype that came with it, the band’s new album failed to chart on the Billboard Top 200 for the first time in their career. The album did notably debut at #10 in England, with decent numbers in other countries, but it’s pretty shocking to see that happen for a band that would regularly do huge numbers. It did manage to see better critical praise than their last album Like A House On Fire, and it’s also likely that Sumerian Records, their home until this record, did an incredible job at pushing them.
