Progressive metal ensemble Animals As Leaders have just released their 4th full-length album, The Madness Of Many. But are the band merely treading water in a crowded genre, or are they still blazing new trails in the music world?

Animals As Leaders have released their fourth full length album on Sumerian Records, “The Madness of Many”, and I have to say, they have truly proved themselves as the heavy hitters of progressive metal. The work of Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes and Matt Garstka throughout this entire record show how far this group has really come. The jazz influenced sound is perfectly matched with hard hitting, complex patterns in each and every song. I’ve been thoroughly taken by this album from start to finish, my only complaint is that it isn’t longer! My personal favorite is track number 5, “Private Visions of the World”, is a song I can listen to on repeat. The technical heaviness mixed with the melodic guitars of Abasi and Reyes really show what these guys are made of. Catch Animals As Leaders on “The Madness of Many” tour with Intervals and Plini through December.
