AI-generated metalcore is attacking bands like Fit For A King, Silent Planet, and a host of others

Silent Planet

AI-generated metalcore bots are attacking a plethora of prominent bands in the scene. The list reads like a “who’s who” of popularity – everyone from Alpha Wolf, Silent Planet, Fit For A King, FFAA, and dozens more have been affected. Spotify has all the receipts. While there’s also been rumors that the new Falling In Reverse album was also affected by the AI-generated metalcore bots, it appears that the #1 rock album in the USA right now was actually written and performed by real humans. Apparently.

As Idioteq.com notes, “this issue is tied to a broader, coordinated effort by individuals using AI to create and distribute instrumental music that mimics well-known metalcore bands. These AI-generated tracks are being distributed through a company called Vibratech Musicians and are primarily available on Spotify.” It’s affected several bands in particular that could see new or recent releases affected by AI, and we all know there’s no real metalcore money out there.

The point is that AI-generated music and art is here to stay – and it’s extremely harmful to human creators of the arts. Basically every band involved has been extremely vocal about it, as it should be. While there’s plenty of benefits that AI could bring to the table, replacing artists is surely not one of them.
