Having recently won Best Trailer of the Year at Hollywood’s prestigious Golden Trailer Awards for the band’s participation in Fast & Furious 7’s official theatrical trailer Family (which opens with “Faded Fluorescence”), many have been inquiring as to whom the sonic architect behind Lights & Motion is and how he operates. In answer to the multitude of inquires from both fans and media, we present to you the Official Music Video for “Reborn”. Half studio session and half “making of”, the video brings you into the studio to see multi-talented Christoffer Franzen in action as he plays, produces, records and mixes every instrument featured in the song…as if you were there.

“For quite a long time now, people have been asking for some insight as to how I write, produce and record my songs. With the recent release of L&M’s latest album, Chronicle, I figured that it would be a good time to show parts of my process when I’m in my studio working. I choose ‘Reborn’, undoubtedly one of the darker L&M songs, because I thought that it would be interesting both in terms of instrumentation and arrangement…and because it has an edge. I’ve always tried to keep a close relationship with the people who listen to my music, and this is just another way for me to break down and reduce the barrier between the artist and the listener. Hopefully what you will take away from the video is a deeper understanding of how my music is made and who I am,” says Franzen.

Director and cinematographer Fredrik Sellergren adds, “We wanted to to make a video that allows the viewer to ‘hear what you see’ throughout Christoffer’s studio workflow, and we strived to capture that process in an effective, original way. There are so many different kind of sounds and instruments in this track and it was a challenge to find the right balance between all of them in the edit. It’s easy to make it more visually interesting when you just go wild on the drums versus when you press a few buttons, dials and faders, but in this sort of music video every part, no matter how small and subtle, is relevant.”

“I am stunned by what Lights & Motion has been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time…” – It Djents
“Chronicle delivers the post-rock genre’s most sublime output to date. Absolutely essential…” – Alternative News
“Deep Elm has once again proven itself a vital record label at the forefront of the post-rock movement.” – Will Not Fade

Lights & Motion is Christoffer Franzen. He plays all instruments on the album. Chronicle was produced, recorded and mixed by Franzen at UpSweden Studio. Official videos for “The Spectacular Quiet”, “The March” and “Home” are also available on YouTube. Chronicle follows Reanimation (January 2013) and Save Your Heart (November 2013) also released on Deep Elm Records. Christoffer Franzen will be releasing Music For Film & Television, Vol. 1 on June 9, 2015 on Deep Elm. Featured in several Hollywood film trailers, television spots and global promo campaigns, you’d be shocked at just how humble this young gun of 26 years remains. He is without doubt, one of the biggest musical discoveries of the decade, irregardless of genre. Chronicle anchors Lights & Motion as a post-rock point of reference, ensures the album’s resting place among the highest echelon of post-rock releases and further justifies Franzen’s spot on the short list of great cinematic songwriters. Since the release of Chronicle in January 2015, Lights & Motion has amassed over 6 Million plays on Spotify alone
