Sueños Fest 2023 day one sees legends Wisin Y Yandel & Ivy Queen along with hot names like Feid and El Alfa hit Chicago (Show Review)

Sueños Fest graced Chicago for Memorial Day weekend for the second year of their yearly fest. The biggest Latin fest in the country brought along a mixed bill and a massive crowd to kick off the weekend of parties.

YOVNGCHIMI dropped off so last minute addition was the Sorry Papi Takeover helping kick the day off. With a range of DJs playing hits and dancers we also got a first look at Bella Dose. Bella Dose is labeled as the first bi-lingual girl group who was recently got a major push due to Shakira. The tik tok viral girl group did a quick 2 songs to the crowd were super into them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the group back with a full set for 2023.

Chicago got a rare appearance from the queen of Reggaeton herself, Ivy Queen. Telling the crowd “Latins don’t twerk” she had the crowd dancing and singing along to hit after hit during her short early day set. Staying pretty still on the runway she showed that her music and vibes carried herself without having to do laps up and down the stage.

Marking his first Chicago appearance since 2015 was Arcángel who is about to hit the road again for a summer arena tour. Clearly a crowd favorite the long time reggaeton singer is now hitting the big stride he’s been building to for so long. If his set here was any indication fans should be scrambling to get tickets for this summers show here as he is only getting bigger.

Returning to the stage though was El Alfa, one of the handful of artists this year who also did last year. Seemingly happier and more energetic than last year El Alfa threw the crowd into a frenzy of dances and singing along as he blew fire around the stage and turned the field into a dust cloud with all the movement.

Colombian artists Feid was up next and brought a monster truck with him for style. Clearly one of the most anticpated sets of the day the crowd went crazy for his mix of reggaeton with hints of rap and R&B intertwined. Direct support for headliner was a huge step up from his last Chicago visit doing House Of Blues and it was clear to see why. If there was one act on day one that showed they are soon to be headliners and doing arenas or bigger it was Feid.

Closing out the day was the returning Wisin Y Yandel. After playing as direct support last year the duo returned to close out day one in only a way they could. Continuing their final tour, La Última Misión, the duo brought loud sing alongs and non stop dancing throughout their hour set. This was a good chance for fans who may not have seen their headliner show last fall to get a condensed version of it as its unclear if the group will be back before calling it and splitting up.
