Every person in the rock community has heard the name Misfits and walking into the show of former guitarist, Doyle, and his new band, it was difficult to know what to expect. Needless to say I had high expectations, but from the second Doyle hit the stage, I was blown away by a performance I never could have anticipated.
Abominator is such a loud and energetic album that it seemed impossible for a live performance to do the album any justice, but Doyle did more than that. The guys his the stage with a force that brought an entirely new dimension to the music. One word to encompass the performance: explosive.
Dreamingdeadgirls, Die Die My Darling, and Last Caress, were the highlights of the night inciting an equally energetic response from the crowd. You can gauge a performance by the intensity of the fans and in this case, they were going wild, pressed against the stage chanting the lyrics louder than the sound system.
This was, hands-down, one of the most energetic shows I’ve been to. From beginning to end, Doyle brought everything they had to the stage and gave the audience a phenomenal performance.
This was the first time I was lucky enough to catch their performance, but it will not be my last.
You can keep up with the band via their Facebook Page or Website.
