Counterparts have always been at the top of the melodic hardcore/metalcore food chain. Since their 2010 debut full-length Prophets, the band has weathered member changes that would wreck most acts of their size (and bigger, if we’re being honest). They’re one of the few bands in the scene who have never released any album that was less than good, and the band’s instrumental and songwriting skills are simply so much more developed than most other bands as well. In other words, they’re pretty much legends within the scene at this point.
For Counterparts, though, there’s plenty more to write even as the band gears up for the release of their seventh full-length album. It appears that album now has a release date of October of this year, if a recent Reddit post is to be believed, and the cover art for it looks really awesome! Might be the band’s best cover art to date, too, though obviously that’s up for debate.
The band is also releasing a new single in a couple weeks, according to their Twitter account, so it’s about time to get excited.
