Former Colorado Rockies and current Seattle Mariners catcher Tom Murphy has carved out a nice little career for himself. Making his debut in 2015 with Colorado, his career OPS of .749 is pretty solid for someone at his position. He’s also off to a hot start in 2022 with a .303/.439/.455 triple slash line – though it does come with the caveat of a small sample size of 42 plate appearances.
Either way, Murphy is a big league baseball player with plenty of opportunities to showcase his skillset. And every time Murphy comes to the plate, home fans get to hear some really awesome music. Specifically, Deftones’ 1997 hit (lol) “My Own Summer (Shove It)”.
Murphy isn’t the only Mariners player with great taste in music, either. Ginuwine’s “Pony”, Juice WRLD, and Nipsey Hussle all make appearances on various Mariners’ players’ walk-up music. We’re here for it, honestly.
