Conquer Divide took their time after releasing their 2015 self-titled debut album. That record landed them on some pretty sizable support tours, and the hard rock // metalcore band ended up with a solid fanbase right off the bat. Of course, we know what happened next – they more or less dropped off the face of the Earth for a minute, at least until releasing a handful of singles in the last year or so.
Now the band is back with “Atonement”, a new single off their forthcoming sophomore album. It has all the hallmarks of a typical Conquer Divide song – a good balance of heaviness and melodicism, a big chorus, and sharp instrumentals. It’s also bound to bring in some new fans who weren’t necessarily familiar with Conquer Divide before, so there’s also that. Overall, a compelling listen.
