This Day In Music History: February 3rd, 2009 – A Day To Remember releases ‘Homesick’

With the release of Homesick on Victory Records, A Day To Remember transformed themselves from one of pop-punk/metalcore’s most exciting underground acts, to a band that would dominate the scene in the years to come. Expanding on the attributes that made For Those Who Have Heart a smash sophomore success, the band continued to cross between genre lines with their patented blend of pop-punk/metalcore.

It’s a beloved album by the fans, and as our friends at KillYourStereo have noted, it was truly a watershed moment for the band. Tracks like the rousing album opener “The Downfall Of Us All” are still crowd favorites even today, and undoubtedly helped the record go Gold in the USA. Impressive for a band that many thought wouldn’t make it in the industry.
