At least compared to their earlier, classic material, the last couple Blink-182 albums have seen less than stellar reception to the majority of the band’s fanbase. The pop-punk band doesn’t have much to prove after eight full-length albums to date, but those who may have been let down by California and 2019’s Nine are hoping for a return to form. Well, there’s an opportunity coming later this year for the band – according to Travis Barker, Blink-182 will indeed be dropping a new album in 2021.
The news comes courtesy of a recent Instagram post, where drummer Travis Barker – who’s been busy working with everyone from Run The Jewels to Yungblud – addressed a fan inquiring about whether a new Blink-182 album would be releasing this year. The answer, as you may have guessed, is a “yes”. Shout out to our friends at Scene Daddy for the screencap, too.
The band recently released a new song, fittingly titled “Quarantine”, last year.
