Slipknot guitarist Jim Root expresses interest in performing ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ live in its entirety

While it’s been barely a month since its release, the album cycle for Slipknot’s We Are Not Your Kind has been a resounding success. Headlining their own Knotfest Roadshow tour which just wrapped up in North America, the new record went #1 in many countries worldwide, including the USA. While their packed touring schedule means there’s no way the band is slowing down anytime soon, guitarist Jim Root hinted at the possibility of celebrating more than just the success of We Are Not Your Kind.

In a new interview with radio station 93.3 Rocks, Jim Root discussed the possibility of the band celebrating We Are Not Your Kind in a very special way…

“We have been talking about maybe trying to find some way to play the new album in its entirety, from top to bottom. I would like to do that – I think that would be something really cool. And do it in a really toned down, stripped down, no big stage set, club atmosphere type of thing.”

This potential event wouldn’t be without precedent. The band performed their sophomore album Iowa in full at Knotfest previously in 2016, so it seems a repeat with their new record couldn’t be ruled out. Perhaps there might even be a secret show involving WANYK? Only time will tell. Needless to say, it’s clear Slipknot have plenty more tricks up their sleeves when it comes to performing live.
