While we wouldn’t necessarily have given the band’s debut album Here’s Your Way Out a perfect rating (like our pals at New Transcendence did upon its 2016 release), California alt-rock band Demon In Me were certainly onto something with their debut full-length. Now going independent after one record with Standby Records, the band just dropped a new song, “Choke”. The track is a logical progression from their debut album – while the song will likely remind you of mid-period Thrice, it also shows a measured progression into a newer sound. Perhaps that’s a product of a revamped lineup, or something else entirely.
Either way, you can stream the new track below. It’s a solid slab of what alternative rock, in all of its various forms, sounds like in 2018 – while blazing a potentially great new trail for their sophomore release.
