What’s most intriguing about talking to a musician is finding out about them as a whole – what previous bands they were in, cool tour stories, maybe even bands they toured with back in the day that are massive now. You can probably say that about California rock band 9Electric, who skillfully merge rock and metal with the aesthetics of industrial music and electronics. Taking influences (though they’re clearly not ripoffs) from Celldweller, Prodigy, and Nine Inch Nails, 9Electric manages to create a distinctly modern sound on their debut full-length, The Damaged Ones. The album drops July 15th, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for it.
We recently got the chance to talk to vocalist Ron “Thunderwood” of 9Electric, where we discussed his past with Opiate For The Masses, the debut 9Electric album, and touring with Avenged Sevenfold back in the day. Check out the full audio below!
