When I listen to hardcore (especially the melodic kind), I’m aiming to hear passion and sincerity in the band’s lyrics and music. Ultimately, I’m looking to feel something. It’s safe to say Melbourne, Australia melodic hardcore band Incentives does just that on their latest single, “Corrode”. Featuring gritty vocals that are never overbearing and a rhythm section that’s more than competent (in sections, the song really grooves), the song is a pretty good introduction to the band overall, having never heard of them before listening to the song.
If you’re a fan of Napoleon, Heart In Hand, and/or It Prevails, you’re going to want to check this out immediately. Hell, if you’re a fan of any kind of music that will make you truly feel, this will be right up your alley. Check out the song below and tell us your thoughts. It comes off their new EP, Dusk, available June 30th.
