TNF Premiere: Alt-rock duo Cures and Curses premiere new song, “Lost Out”

With an anthemic sound reminiscent of bands like Fall Out Boy and Bring Me The Horizon, Liverpool’s Cures and Curses look to follow in the aforementioned circles of those two bands, with an alternative rock sound that could cross over into the pop realm too. And with a previous single ‘Fall Apart, Crash Together’ doing well, we’re excited to be premiering the band’s new single, “Lost Out”, as well.

The song, which can be streamed below ahead of it’s Friday release, is off an untitled EP dropping later this year. This is a band to keep an eye on.

Based in Liverpool, UK, Cures and Curses (made up of members Aaron Akpojaro and David Blackburne) are an alternative rock duo with an anthemic sound taking influence from the likes of Fall Out Boy, Bring Me The Horizon and Paramore. ‘Lost Out’ is a brooding, atmospheric rock song with a soaring chorus and an emotive undercurrent. The song finds the duo further expanding their sound from their previous single ‘Fall Apart, Crash Together’, incorporating sombre Auto-Tuned vocals and orchestral parts to further carve out their own individual style. Lyrically, the song touches on feelings of regret and longing, creating a relatable track that once again reinforces the promise shown by the young group.
