The Acacia Strain to release new album ‘Slow Decay’ in July, release new song featuring Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante

The Acacia Strain have certainly undergone an interesting evolution in sound. While the long-running metal band have never released an outright bad album, it had been a while since The Acacia Strain reinvented their formula – at least until 2019’s It Comes In Waves dropped. One of the best albums in the band’s catalogue to date, the band explored sludgy, almost post-metal and Neurosis influences to very good results. It seems this album was only a prelude, though, especially considering the band has steadily released new songs throughout the first half of 2020. Now, it appears it’ll be culminating in a new album for the band, as they’re starting to hit another creative peak. The band’s new 2-song EP Y, out today, also features Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante on “One Thousand Painful Stings”.

The Acacia Strain surprises fans with “D” 7″ vinyl with two new songs – listen!

New England’s The Acacia Strain, veterans of the scene for almost two decades, have dropped “D,” a new seven inch and digital release through Rise Records. It includes two tracks: “Feed A Pigeon, Breed A Rat” and “Seeing God,” the latter of which features Aaron Heard of Jesus Piece/Nothing. The band has yet again surprised fans with new music. Their last album, “It Comes in Waves” was released with little warning back in December of 2019.

The Acacia Strain enter the studio to record new album

Are you ready for a new album from The Acacia Strain? So are we. The band is headed out on tour with Chelsea Grin and Spite, so there’s no definitive release date or anything like that, but The Acacia Strain are currently prepping their upcoming 9th (!!!) full-length album. Whenever it’s released, it’ll be the follow-up to 2017’s Gravebloom, and knowing their consistency, you can probably expect something heavy. The band has also been teasing clips from the studio, which you can watch below.
