Making A Difference: 6LACK uses his platform to help bring clean water to Uganda

Platinum records and sold-out shows aren’t the only ways for musicians to make a veritable impact in the world. Certainly, making music that touches lives is one thing, but it’s another to use that platform to make a real difference.

Atlanta rapper 6LACK is doing just that by partnering with the DROP4DROP foundation, which provides accessible and clean water to some of the most improverished nations on Earth. WIth world temperatures skyrocketing, having fresh water is of vital importance – and 6LACK had plenty to say about it in a recent Instagram post, too.

“I appreciate music for changing my life, but i love it even more for being the vehicle to do more in the world. for my people and for all people.”, said 6LACK in the Instagram post. And he’s not wrong. The Atlanta rapper, whose sophomore full-length East Atlanta Love Letter dropped last year, is certainly aware of the plight that faces many of the world’s poorest countries. “Clean water means more food, more jobs, and more learning.”

the best part about finding success, is having the ability to do things that seemed so farfetched as a kid. it’s crazy to think that somethin as simple as fresh water, is still a problem for millions of people in the world, but it is. clean water means more food, more jobs, and more learning. so with the help of @drop4drop & @drinkrightwater, we found an area in Uganda, in need of fresh water, built a water well for the community, and here are the results ? i appreciate music for changing my life, but i love it even more for being the vehicle to do more in the world. for my people ✊? and for all people. swipe for a smile
